Peninsula in the island

Loix is a ainable by a winding road among salt marshlands.

Because of its particular location and its remoteness, the village has retained its authentic charm.

The heart of the village is a nice square, with the market and church of Sainte Catherine supporting a square belltower, from which spread out interlacing narrow streets in which you can admire charming houses.

Set back from the village stands the last tide mill which was used to clean the salt before the grinding process. This site provides an excellent base for walking between the sea and marshlands, and exploring the Pointe du Grouin o ering wonderful views.

Here everything is peaceful and delightful.

You might be lucky enough to watch boules player in the square next to the church of Sainte- Catherine! Unless you'll be captivated by the ballet of the birds flying above the seafront.

Wonderful sights at every turn: the village is home to the last tide-mill that can be viewed on the island.
