Relax on the beach in Saint-Martin-de-Ré
La Cible Beach, in Saint-Martin-de-Ré, is well worth a trip. It's not far from the village centre, and you can rent pretty bathing cabins. From 1 July to 31 August, the beach is supervised by lifeguards, so it's ideal for families. And you'll have a great view of this unique place from the restaurant terrace.
Bathing water quality
A real jewel of the Atlantic Coast, the Ile de Ré boasts a preserved habitat that is perfect for a getaway featuring long bike rides, beaches, salt marshes, authentic villages and inviting harbours. The village of Saint-Martin-de-Ré is blessed with a high quality beach, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean and not far from Fort Vauban, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This summer, ensuring good sanitary conditions and protecting the coastline is our priority!
To promote your wellbeing, we and our partner Saur (see Omer® and Oser®), have installed a new bathing water monitoring system, allowing us to ensure the cleanliness and quality of these areas quickly and easily thanks to modern technology.
This specific analysis of the water is carried out according to the criteria identified by the profile valuations completed in 2011 (see risk identification), as stated in the 2008-990 Decree
This enhanced and targeted beach surveillance system allows us to anticipate all pollution risks and keep you informed in real time.
So we can promise you impeccably clean bathing water all year round.
This initiative is recognised and rewarded by the French Accreditation Committee, which has awarded the village the "Quality Bathing Water" certification. Just another reason why your destination is the seaside resort par excellence!
