  • Ecomuseum dedicated to the history and maritime and popular traditions of the Ile de Ré. A visit full of island flavours on 4 exhibition levels:

    - origins of the island and remains of the Abbaye des Châteliers (12th century), traditional activities: agriculture, fishing, oyster farming (model boats).

    - The island's traditional activities: agriculture, fishing, oyster farming (model boats), headdresses, costumes, Charentais interiors with period furniture, a fine collection...

    > The museum is open :
    April to June and from September to October: Monday to Friday from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2.30pm to 6pm.
    Public holidays and Sundays during school holidays from 2pm to 6pm.

    - July and August: Monday to Friday from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2.30pm to 6.30pm
    Public holidays and Sundays from 2pm to 6pm.

    Closed on May 1st and from November to March

    All year round by reservation for groups of more than 12 people.
