Would you say that one of the campsite’s main assets is its idyllic location?

The campsite enjoys a privileged geographical location in the heart of the island at La Couarde-sur-Mer. Ideally located, just 50 meters from the beach, the magical landscapes and gentle way of life of the Ile de Ré will hold no secrets for you. With over a hundred kilometers of cycle paths criss-crossing the island and direct access to a secure itinerary, all you have to do is hop on one of the bikes available for hire, right on the premises, and off you go. We offer a range of bike models and accessories, including child trailers, followers and baby seats. All cycles come with an anti-theft device and a helmet, which is compulsory for children under 12. We’re also proud to have been awarded the “Accueil Vélo” label since June 2022, which guarantees you access to a covered and closed bicycle shelter, a complete repair kit and a socket for recharging your VAE.

Camping-caravanning pitches, tiny homes, converted tents… There’s no shortage of accommodation options. Do you also offer comfort mobile homes, one of your most popular rentals?

In fact, we have a fleet of 180 mobile homes: fully-equipped accommodation with Wi-Fi included, spread over 9 hectares. They range in size from one to two, three or four bedrooms, with or without a wooden terrace, plenty of natural light and modern, comfortable interiors. There’s something to suit every need and budget.

Camping de l’Océan & Spa also offers privileged access to a spa?

Yes, we offer access to a wellness area on the campsite, where you can relax, unwind and indulge in the finest of treatments. Our qualified beauticians welcome you to our 300 m² institute, where you can enjoy sculpting, treatments and beauty advice. The Spa Océan features a hammam, sauna and jacuzzi, as well as three private rooms with hydro-massage baths and hot-water beds. Open to all, campsite guests and out-of-towners alike, our SPA is the perfect place to pamper yourself.

On the menu: lobster, crab, mussels, oysters… There’s plenty to choose from. What do you think of your menu?

Our credo is to offer seafood at an affordable price. So our menu doesn’t change much, because it meets the classic expectations of a clientele looking for simplicity at fair prices. Of course, we do have a few signature dishes, like our stuffed shellfish or our fish burger, for which only we master the recipe…!

Choosing Camping de l’Océan & Spa means choosing a committed campsite. Can you tell us more about this?

Yes, of course. For several years now, Camping de l’Océan & Spa has been committed to raising awareness among its customers of the importance of preserving the environment. In fact, since 2021, the establishment has held the Clef Verte Label, the 1st Ecolabel for tourist accommodation enabling the development of sustainable, ecologically virtuous and socially responsible tourism. More recently, the Camping de l’Océan & Spa decided to join the Ré’sponsables network developed by the tourist office, with the ambition of promoting, ever more, everyone’s commitment to more respectful tourism. The campsite team also sponsors a beehive, installed directly on site, with the organization of various workshops led by beekeepers to introduce visitors to the life of bees. For those returning from the beach, we’ve also installed a tide tank on our privileged access path. We also make bio-bins available to our residents to enable them to practice composting and, why not, take some of this practice home with them!
