Focus on the Salon du livre

L’île aux livres, the Ile de Ré book fair

The 17th edition of the “L’île aux Livres” book fair will be held again this year at Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré, from 8 to 10 August 2025.

Once again, the programme promises to be packed with discoveries: meetings with national, international and regional authors, signing sessions, conferences, debates and round tables will punctuate this weekend dedicated to book lovers.

The île de Ré Events – Sites in the Spotlight

A rich programme of discoveries awaits you on 10 August in La Flotte!

The maritime heritage will be in the spotlight, with a grand parade, sea chanteys and the gathering of ships before they enter the harbour.

The bay of La Flotte will then be set alight with a musical fireworks display, followed by the illumination of the heritage ships.

Will you be visiting the island over the extended weekend of 15 August?

  • In the mood for a party? The Place de la Liberté in Les Portes-en-Ré will come alive on the evening of 14 August, with a torchlight procession, fireworks and dancing.
  • If you’re an artist at heart, head for “le 15 de Loix”: the Loidais arts association is organising an art market in the village streets all day on Friday 15 August (paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, etc.).
  • Fancy a breath of sea air? The Fête de la Mer de Saint-Martin (Sea Festival) promises a day of fun and festivities on 15 August, with first dives, helicopter rescue exercises, musical entertainment, a dance and fireworks.
  • Horse lovers? In addition to the popular ball to be held on the Place du Marché, the commune of Bois-Plage is offering an equestrian show by the Artiscène company on 16 August.
