April is Environment Month!

Every three years in April, the Month of the Environment returns to honour the richness of the island’s biodiversity.

Thanks to the exceptional but fragile natural heritage of the Ile de Ré, this month is an opportunity to highlight nature and the species present in the area, but also to raise awareness among visitors and locals of the need to take care of it.

Discovery workshops, introductions, immersive shows, lectures, exhibitions, storytelling walks, nature outings… there’s something for all tastes and all ages !

The programme includes more than a hundred free events in the ten communes of the Ile de Ré, where you can learn to discover, observe, explore and, above all, preserve.

The “Biodiversity and the Imagination” theme links legends and the natural world around us!

Taking place from 1 April to 1 May, the 2025 edition of the show will be divided into four themes, and promises to (re)discover the influences between popular culture, the natural environment and the imagination:

Unicorn, Totoro, Chewbaka… Real or fantastic?
Listening to wild melodies
Experience, feel… Nature will enchant you!

Highlights

On 4 April 2025 in Sainte-Marie-de-Ré: Concert-lecture “As the bird flies” with Allain Bougrain-Dubourg,
On 11 April 2025 in Saint-Martin-de-Ré: Immersive evening in the Parc de la Barbette with concerts, exhibition and site lighting.
On 11 and 12 April 2025 between Saint-Martin-de-Ré and Bois-Plage-en-Ré: Exploratory and dramatised walks around the Évières site to discover little-known landscapes and relive the history of the site through dramatised presentations.
