The Régalades, a chance to celebrate the start of the PDO potato season on the Ile de Ré!
This year, this not-to-be-missed event on the Ile de Ré has become the Apéros Régalades, a series of gourmet evenings celebrating PDO potatoes and other local produce such as oysters, salt and wine!
Join us on the terrace of the Coopérative UNIRÉ in Le Bois-Plage-en-Ré for two gourmet evenings with foodtrucks and guaranteed live music!
Recognised by a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) since 1998, this small potato with its delicate skin and melt-in-the-mouth flesh, grown on sandy soils, is one of the world’s best-known varieties.grown on sandy soils bathed in sea air, is harvested by hand in the spring to preserve its delicacy.
Harvesting takes place between April and the end of June, at an early stage of ripeness. This stage, when the skin is still very thin, explains its name “primeur”. It cannot be stored for long, making it a seasonal product to be enjoyed immediately.
Let yourself be seduced by this emblematic product of Retais gastronomy, and come and taste it in a warm and festive atmosphere!
