Heritage Days

Created in 1984 by the French Ministry of Culture, they offer a unique opportunity to discover the region’s exceptional places and sites.

The Heritage Days are coming to the Ile de Ré!

Every year in September, it’s a not-to-be-missed event!

The Communauté de communes and all the players in the area will be taking part in the European Heritage Days to offer you a programme packed with discoveries!

In 2025 it will be the 42ᵉ J.E.P.

From 19 to 21 September 2025, the island of Ré will be living to the rhythm of the 42nd European Heritage Days.
This not-to-be-missed event, which attracts large numbers of curious onlookers every year, will this time focus on the national theme of “architectural heritage”.

Many of the island’s most emblematic sites will be opening their doors, some of them exceptionally so, to give the public a chance to discover the richness and diversity of the region’s heritage. Guided tours, exhibitions, workshops and special events will be organised in a number of communes to showcase local architecture, from listed fortifications and village houses to religious edifices and remarkable buildings.

Whether you’re a history buff, an architecture enthusiast or simply want to rediscover the island in a different way, these three days will provide a great opportunity to immerse yourself in Ré’s cultural and architectural identity.
