Day 1

Arrive on the island and get your bearings

Start by settling into the eco-friendly accommodation you’ve had the pleasure of selecting in advance of your arrival. From campsites and B&Bs to hotels and vacation villages, there’s something to suit every taste and budget.

Then pay a visit to one of the many bike rental companies if you haven’t brought your own. The island of Ré is equipped with 138 km of cycle paths, making it easily accessible by bike.

Take your first bike ride or walk through the village where you’ll be staying, and get your bearings in peace and quiet.

In the evening, treat yourself to dinner in a restaurant that favors organic and seasonal produce.

Day 2

Meeting local producers and responsible activities

Visit local farmers’ markets in each village on the island. Set off to meet them and prepare a gourmet, local picnic for lunch. For lunch, enjoy it on a beach or in the forest, in the shade of the pine trees. Remember to collect all your garbage and leave no trace of your passage when you leave.

In the afternoon, try your hand at activities based on local know-how, or discover sports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing or canoeing.

Day 3

Visit to the nature reserve and salt marshes

The north of the island is a haven for nature and animal lovers. Cycle through it to admire the scenery and reach the Lilleau des Niges ornithological nature reserve.

Because this part of the island is so well preserved, it is only accessible in certain places. From the reserve and the salt marshes, admire the Fier d’Ars, classified Natura 2000. Here, you’re plunged into the heart of nature, and time seems to stand still.

End your stay by taking time to admire the scenery one last time, smelling the scent of iodine and enjoying the soothing natural surroundings.

With its 138 km of cycle paths, the Ile de Ré is a great place to get around by bike,
to discover unsuspected landscapes
while reducing your impact on the environment.
