The Esprit du Sel shop in Saint-Clément

Since 1986, we have been totally committed to preserving the salt marshes on the Ile de Ré.

In 1994, we founded the company ‘Esprit du Sel’. This company is committed to maintaining and safeguarding the heritage value of the marshes. The aim is to enhance the cultural and economic value of traditional salt marsh products: grey sea salt and flower of salt from the Ile de Ré.

Our challenge is to develop and market high-quality, original and varied ‘marine’ products from the Ré region, with the salt marsh and the sea as their central theme. Products that respect tradition, promote the value of craftsmanship and respond to ecological concerns.

‘We have set ourselves the goal of developing a range of products typical of the Ile de Ré, and promoting the island's quality image through its regional products in France and abroad’.
