Young and old alike can take sailing lessons at the Cercle Nautique d'Ars-en-Ré sailing school.
The sailing school is open from March to the end of November, during which time you can take lessons or rent a boat.
Here's what we offer:
Optimist and windsurfing lessons for beginners. These take place on a former marsh, a safe stretch of water ideal for young sailors' first tacks, and highly suitable for beginner windsurfing courses for children and adults alike.
We also offer sailing on the Fier d'Ars, our main waterway, a unique and unspoilt area.
Young and old alike can enjoy sailing catamarans, dinghies, windsurfing, wingfoils and foil dinghies, as well as discovery outings on a group boat (4 people + instructor) and paddle outings.
In July and August, we offer swimming lessons for children aged 5 and over, and kitesurfing courses for children aged 14 and over.
We also offer supervised rental of kayaks, paddles, catamarans, dinghies, sailboards, e-foils...
In summer, during July and August, we open a third site on the Plage de la Conche in the commune of Saint-Clément-des-Baleines.
Here you can take lessons and rent wingfoils, catamarans, the "BirdyFish" foiling dinghy, e-foils...
The base is located 200 meters from the village center behind the summer market, just past the harbor master's office.
It boasts extensive facilities meeting PRM standards, adapted to all activities, including a classroom, sail loft, changing rooms, showers, hangar and workshop, as well as direct, privileged access to the Fier d'Ars.
The CNAR is the oldest club in the Poitou-Charentes region, founded in 1955. Its club house, located on the old port of Ars-en-Ré, welcomes members every day in July and August, as well as visiting yachtsmen. An aperitif is held there every Saturday before lunch, as well as one dinner a month. It also hosts prize-giving ceremonies for the many regattas on the calendar.
