What do our animals really feel? Veterinarian Dr. Thierry Poitte invites you to an essential conference to decipher animal suffering and learn about the progress made in better relieving it.
Come and attend this free conference on Animal Pain and Suffering, organized by Ré Nature Environnement.

Veterinarian Dr. Thierry Poitte, President of CAPdouleur and whose clinic is well-known to the residents of Île de Ré, will present the current state of scientific knowledge on pain in our pets. He will discuss the progress made, the solutions available, and the important role of both the veterinarian and the pet owner. The conference will be introduced by Allain Bougrain Dubourg, President of LPO France, on the theme of animals as "sentient beings" (Article 515-14 of the French Civil Code).

This event will be held on December 12, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Wedding Hall of the Sainte-Marie Town Hall and will be followed by a reception.
