Community work camp: digging up ‘Gaura’ plants
Gaura Onenothera lineheimeri, although sold commercially, is an invasive alien species listed as such in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region by the Conservatoire Botanique. It can have a moderate impact on natural environments. This perennial plant with a taproot is branched and bushy and produces beautiful grouped flowers. On the Ile de Ré, a site has been colonised by this very dynamic species, which competes with the local flora. Come and help us and take part in a useful and enjoyable mission of general interest!
