Choreographer Anne Nguyen builds a bridge between Africa and America.
This solo explores the links between traditional African dances and urban dances, highlighting the major influence of the African-American diaspora in the birth of hip-hop in the United States. Performed with virtuosity by Ivorian dancer Mark-Wilfried Kouadio, the show combines undulations, pulsations, and physical momentum, drawing on the body's memory to question our roots, our influences, and the way cultures are transmitted and reinvented through migration in a cosmopolitan world.
