Synopsis:
Fleeing post-war Europe, visionary architect László Tóth arrives in America to rebuild his life, his career and his relationship with his wife Erzsébet, which has been severely damaged by the shifting borders and regimes of wartime Europe.
Left to fend for himself in a foreign land, László settles in Pennsylvania, where the eminent and wealthy industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren recognises his talent as a builder. But power and posterity come at a heavy price.
