Molière Award 2022 for Best Public Theatre Production!
After Bigre, Molière de la Comédie 2017, Pierre Guillois and Olivier Martin-Salvan, in a fireworks display of cardboard cut-outs, invite us on an imaginary journey, a fusion of the madness of a cartoon cabaret and a Shakespearean epic. He leaves the plains of the Far North, cursed by a mermaid caught by accident. He escapes on skates, a scooter and a cardboard aeroplane. He discovers Scotland, heads south on a mule, murders a few bagpipers along the way, and searches for love, always.
But the actor in a three-piece suit remains seated, such is the madness of the show. His sidekick in swimming trunks bustles around him with hundreds of pieces of cardboard bearing the names of countries, props or creatures encountered. Incredible adventures unfold through tricks and gags, in an explosion of brilliant and wacky ideas.
