Help medical research on sight diseases !
The association ‘Les Portes en Fête’, in partnership with the Saint Martin Lion's Club, is committed to working alongside the IRRP (Information Recherche Rétine Pigmentaire) to support research into vision disorders through a charity walk.
This is an opportunity to help medicine while enjoying a gentle sporting activity. Created in 1986 by Arielle Dumas, the IRRP's objectives are to combat the isolation of patients with retinal diseases and to support medical research to understand and defeat these diseases. Since 2021, the Lion's Club has joined this movement.
Come and take part to help advance research. Join this worthy cause: all funds raised will be donated to the IRRP. Each walker is asked to contribute £6 or more.
The morning's schedule: Welcome from 10 a.m. at the Salle des Marais de la Prée (next to the Les Portes en Fête Association office). The programme includes a walk to discover the heritage of Portingalais, the narrow streets of Maison Jean Monnet (the inspiration behind the construction of Europe 1888-1979), the church, the marshes, the beach and the Chapelle de la Redoute.
Upon arrival, the Lion's Club will offer a complimentary drink to each walker at the Cytons site (at the top of Gros-Jonc Beach). To end the morning on a convivial note, bring your picnic and cutlery.
