Nautical Circle of Ars-en-Ré

At the Cercle Nautique d'Ars-en-Ré sailing school, you can come and take Optimist lessons for the younger ones, as well as windsurfing, catamarans, dinghies and wing foils, and also go on discovery outings in a paddle and a cazavant (collective dinghy).

Optimist and windsurfing lessons are given on a former marsh, a safe stretch of water ideal for young sailors' first tacks, and also ideal for beginner windsurfing lessons.

We also offer kayak, paddle, catamaran, dinghy and windsurf hire.

In summer:
The CNAR offers beginners' swimming lessons in a heated pool, as well as kitesurfing lessons.
On the beach at La Conche, in Saint-Clément-des-Baleines, you'll find our beach point: hire and private lessons for catamarans, dinghies, windsurfing, stand-up paddle and kayaks.

The base is located 200 metres from the village centre behind the summer market, just past the harbour master's office.
It has extensive facilities for all kinds of activities, including a classroom, sail loft, changing rooms, showers, hangar and workshop, as well as direct, privileged access to the Fier d'Ars.

The CNAR is the oldest club in the Poitou-Charentes region. Its Club House, located on the old port of Ars-en-Ré, welcomes members every day in July and August, and hosts an aperitif every Saturday before lunch, as well as one dinner a month. It also hosts the prize-giving ceremonies for the many regattas in the calendar.
