Car, train, bus, bike - choose how to get to Ile de Ré.

Since 1st January 2012, an environmental tax is payable for crossing the bridge. The rate varies depending on the period and vehicle size. If you are planning to cross more than once, you can buy a pass which reduces the cost of each passage. The office is open every day from 5.30am to 9.30pm.

Crossing is €3 for two-wheel motorised vehicles.

Trains stop at La Rochelle station from Nantes, Bordeaux and Paris-Montparnasse with the high-speed railway service: TGV Atlantique.

Note: the right lane when leaving the toll ages is reserved for bikes, and the left lane is reserved for pedestrians. Bridge crossing is free for cyclists and pedestrians.

From Niort via the Vélo Francette 90km (to La Rochelle) cycling route; from Roscoff or Hendaye via the Vélodyssée cycling route which follows the Atlantic coast.

Line 3/3E "La Rochelle-Ile de Ré" of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region serves the 10 communes of the Ile de Ré and La Rochelle.
Payment in the bus with the driver, no reservation possible.
Single journey 2.30€ and return journey 4.10€.

RespiRé: electric village shuttles, bridge shuttle and transport on demand:

5 free shuttles allow you to move around the villages of La Flotte, Sainte-Marie-de-Ré, Saint-Martin-de-Ré, Loix and Saint-Clément-des-Baleines and are connected with the regional bus line (Line 3).

A shuttle bus also allows you to cross the bridge (La-Rochelle/Belvedère - Rivedoux-Plage/Sablanceaux) for 1€*, with or without a bicycle *(return offered within the limits of available places)

RespiRé à la demande : this service is open to all, without condition, and allows you to be picked up at home and dropped off at one of the stops provided.

Ars-en-Ré, La Flotte, Rivedoux-Plage and Saint-Martin-de-Ré offer berths for visitors. It is necessary to contact the harbour office before arrival, unless in the event of an emergency.
