A historic residence built in 1885 on the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, with views over the port, the sea and the town, featuring a large, south-facing, peaceful garden with a swimming pool (counter-current pool).
We recently opened a guest house on the port of Saint-Martin, capital of the Ile de Ré, in the heart of the Vauban World Heritage City.
Having been passionate about the island for many years, we fell in love with this 1885 residence, one of the most beautiful and emblematic on Saint-Martin. Its lantern offers a spectacular 360° panorama of the port, sea and town. After renovation, the house has regained its lustre, preserving its moldings, woodwork, parquet floors, fireplaces, porcelain basins and all the architectural treasures of the period. Choose from five spacious bedrooms, each unique, with brand-new bathrooms featuring antique porcelain basins. Enjoy the peace and quiet of a large, south-facing garden, complete with swimming pool (counter-current pool). A breakfast of fresh produce will be served in the wooded dining room or on the terrace. We can also offer aperitifs with tapas. Numerous restaurants are within a five-minute walk of the house.
Rooms on the 1st floor have 3m30 high ceilings, and those on the 2ᵉ have cathedral ceilings with exposed antique beams. All bedding is new and top-of-the-range. The beds are 180x200cm (kingsize) and the decoration is very meticulous.
- GUERMANTES: 32 m² master bedroom on the 1st floor, south-facing and quiet, overlooking the garden. Bathroom separated by a private curtained corridor with shower, bath and toilet.
- ARONDE: 30 m² bedroom on 1st floor, south-facing and quiet, with garden views. Separate, adjoining bathroom with shower and toilet.
- HEMINGWAY: 24 m² room on 1st floor overlooking the port. Separate adjoining bathroom with large 90x180 shower and toilet.
- BATEAU IVRE: 26 m² room located on the 2ᵉ floor with harbor view. Large bathroom with walk-in shower and toilet.
- CANOPÉE: 22 m² room located on the 2ᵉ floor facing south and quietly overlooking the garden. A wall in cut stone and white lime has been renovated and preserved. Separate adjoining bathroom with shower and toilet.
