Points of interest
1 Départure - La Redoute
Here you are at La Redoute of Rivedoux-Plage: a military construction built to block the entrance to the island in case of invasion as early as the 17th century.

Follow the blue waymark sign all along the walking route!
2 Rue du Fort
Follow the street ‘Rue du Fort’ and bear left into ‘Avenue Gustave Perreau’.
3 Tourist Office of Rivedoux-Plage
Pass close to Tourist Office and turn left until you come to the seafront. Follow the street ‘Rue du Moulin’.
4 The Harbour
Follow the pedestrianised path along the port.
5 La Corniche (The coast road )
Then follow the coast road together with cyclists until you reach the restaurant ‘Les Viviers’.
6 Rue des Charbonnières
Bear left into the street ‘Rue des Charbonnières’ (walk for 500m).
7 Woodlands
Turn right into the path passing through woodlands for 800m.
8 In the direction of the Fort de la Prée
Cross the road RD 735 in the direction of the Fort de la Prée, an independent military site of Île de Ré which was built before the fortifications of Saint-Martin-de-Ré.
9 Chemin des douaniers
Follow the small footpath (Chemin des Douaniers).
11 The Abbaye des Châteliers
The Abbaye des Châteliers is worth a detour! Then walk back and follow the coastal trail.
12 La Flotte
At La Flotte, reach the coast path.
13 The L’Arnérault beach
Once you have arrived at the L’Arnérault beach, bypass the port of La Flotte.
14 Tourist Office of La Flotte
Pass close to Tourist Office of La Flotte and then turn left.
15 Nautical base
Walk in the direction of the nautical base, and then along the oyster-farming buildings.
16 L'Oursine de Ré
You come to L’Oursine de Ré that you will have the opportunity to visit by advance booking (La Maladrerie at La Flotte).
17 Blockhouse
Follow the coast path and pass close to the blockhouse, a vestige of World War II.
18 Saint-Marin-de-Ré
You are arriving at Saint-Martin-de-Ré! Continue straight ahead and then turn right.
19 Impasse des Antilles
Pass ‘Impasse des Antilles’ and ‘Rue des Îles Grenadines’.
20 Avenue de La Plage
Bear right to the La Cible beach.
21 La Cible beach
You can have a bath at La Cible beach! You are facing Pertuis Breton.
22 The Citadelle
Enjoy the view of the Citadelle of Saint-Martin-de-Ré.
23 Arrival - Tourist office of Saint-Martin-de-Ré
Arrival. Don’t miss a visit to Saint-Martin-de-Ré. And then the bus takes you to the departure point!

  • A pied mais pas en vélo

    le problème c'est que la majorité du circuit n'est pas accessible en vélo.

  • Tous au front!

    Belle balade, deux belles villes à visiter avec un peu d'histoire. Attention le chemin de bord de mer est interdit au vélo. Nous l'avons faite à pied avec visites de St Martin et de La Flotte où nous en avons profiter pour faire une balade gourmande en ces lieux. Au total 4h de balade sans aller au-delà de la Flotte.
