Cultural ,  Unusual ,  Sports activities ,  Journées du Patrimoine (National Heritage Days) at Saint-Martin-de-Ré

  • The 37th edition of the European Heritage Days will be held on 19 and 20 September 2020.

Because heritage has many facets and is sometimes hidden where you don't expect it, the Ministry of Culture has chosen this year to highlight the history of leisure and entertainment.
Historically, games and leisure have always been an important part of children's time. Adults have also felt the need to get away from their daily concerns.
As a result, the heritage of leisure and entertainment is very varied and abundant.
Beyond the great architectures dedicated to entertainment, this heritage is often modest and tenuous, and deserves to be, in the most varied contexts, including that of village festivals or carnivals, identified and preserved, to bear witness to the permanence of a popular culture, which remains very much alive, and which deserves to be passed on to future generations.
During these three days, don't hesitate to push the door of places usually closed to the public, don't be afraid to meet strange characters and above all have fun!
Happy European Heritage Days to all!
